In a significant move, Samsung has announced that its Samsung Wallet app will no longer feature Paytm Wallet integration for Indian users. This decision could have a notable impact on individuals who rely on Paytm Wallet for their transactions on Samsung devices.

Integration Phased Out

Samsung has notified users that the integration of Paytm Wallet with Samsung Wallet will cease by the end of February 2024. Starting from the 29th of February 2024, Galaxy smartphone users will no longer be able to access Paytm Wallet through Samsung Wallet.

Those requiring assistance are advised to contact Paytm Wallet’s customer care for support. This change comes in response to regulatory concerns and non-compliance issues with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Transition

Users are encouraged to utilize or withdraw any funds remaining in their Paytm Bank account/wallet before the integration is discontinued. Samsung Wallet offers a range of features beyond payment integration, including support for credit/debit cards, UPI, and digital IDs such as Aadhar cards and PAN cards via DigiLocker integration. Additionally, users can store vaccination certificates, travel tickets, membership cards, digital keys, and login credentials within the app.

Samsung Wallet

Samsung first introduced Samsung Pay to the Indian market in 2017, followed by the launch of Samsung Pass, an application designed to securely store login passwords for various apps and websites. Last year, Samsung consolidated Samsung Pass and Samsung Pay into a single platform known as Samsung Wallet.

With these changes, users will need to adapt to new ways of managing their digital transactions and personal information on Samsung devices.
